November, 2007 Weak Employment Data- Sign of Things to Come?
Initial jobless claims were released today and are up by 20,000 this week, to a total of 329,000. This is above expectations of 325,000 and a possible sign of a weaker job market. Weak employment is bond-positive, so this is an indication that it is wise to "float" at this point and not lock an interest rate if you are in the market for a mortgage.
